Wrinkle reduction can be approached from two points of view. One is to shrink the skin to decrease the depth of the wrinkle, and the other is to directly treat the wrinkle by resurfacing the skin or filling the wrinkle. Wrinkle reduction can be accompished with elos synergy without downtime.

No matter what is done there will always will be lines there. The lines cannot be completely removed, but can be flattened to be minimal. Wrinkles are most noticeable when they are deep, catch light and create a shadow. Once they've been filled, flattened, or tightened, they do not show as much.

Wrinkle reduction can be done through facial resurfacing. The best method is Fractional Laser. It involves some downtime. Mild resurfacing can also be done with facials, microdermabrasion, and mild chemical peels. Peels are now more often done at home than in the office to decrease downtime. They can be used more progressively and more gently in that fashion.

Fillers can be injected deep into the skin, or more superficially in the skin, depending upon the wrinkles. We use a variety of fillers, using those that last six months to a year and produce nice correction. They do fade over time.Temporary fillers are best, as they allow us to keep the filler in the right place; and that place changes over time as we age.

If you use permanent fillers, over time the filler may become dislocated and not in the right place. Then it needs to be removed, which is very difficult to do. Using a filler that lasts six months to a year allows you to keep on top of the aging process and to improve the wrinkles.

Botox can be used to decrease wrinkles, but it is best used up between the eyebrows, or in the crow's feet area. Relaxation of the muscles produces a positive effect. Injecting Botox in other areas might create an unnatural expression or interfere wth the muscle function.
